Y'know what's thoroughly strange? Writing a handwritten letter after all this time and actually mailing it, albeit to buy a pony. In high school I wrote notes every once in a while, sent out the occasional letter or Christmas card to MSA kids, knew the proper price of stamps (37 cents now, can you believe it?), was familiar with the ways of pens and notebook paper...but yeah, that's my roommate's realm right now, and it's odd to think that my general reaction to the endeavor these days is simply to label it old-fashioned. I've become quite entrenched in the ways of um-ts-ah, of typing everything and being able to keep a copy of any relevant documents with ease.

Here's something now—do you like this, the way I irreverently mix Shakespeare and Michelle Branch? How thoroughly a product of the times I am.

"Oh brave new world that has such people in it..."
—William Shakespeare, The Tempest
"If I had known then that these things happen, would they have happened with you? Oh...please don't drive me home tonight, 'cause I don't wanna feel alone...please don't drive me home tonight, 'cause I don't wanna go..."
—Michelle Branch, "Tuesday Morning"
